We made Halloween crafts with Latin words at St. Charles After-School Program on October 3! The cherubs loved learning about Latin and making the crafts!
Vergil's Birthday
Latin IV and AP Latin students celebrated Vergil's birthday with cake, magic wands, and a lesson on his life and history.
Foreign Language Department Halloween Party!
Students studying all languages at WHS all joined together for a spooky, stupendous celebration of halloween. Activities included toga wearing, pumpkin making and socializing with our friends from other parts of the department. The party was a huge success!!!

WHS Latin Club made 39(!) Thanksgiving cards for one of its favorite charities.
St. Charles Outreach
WHS Latin Club teaches Latin words related to Thanksgiving to children at St. Charles’ School’s after-school program on November 7th.
Happy Holidays!
Latin Club members created 30 original holiday cards for “Cards for Hospitalized Kids” to distribute.
December Outreach
On December 5th, WHS Latin Club students helped elementary school students design Christmas trees illustrated with seasonal Latin vocabulary words.
Classics Day!
Thirty WHS Latin Club members attended JCL’s Classics Day at Boston University on December 6. Students performed a skit entitled “Bee Line” in which they interpreted the bee simile in Book I of the Aeneid. They also attended sessions about feasts and festivals before sharing an excellent lunch with hundreds of Latin students from all over Massachusetts.
Io, Saturnalia!
Latin classes celebrated Saturnalia on the first day of winter by teaching lessons, wearing togas and eating sweets and fruit.
Gift Wrapping
Students assisted the charity Winchester Gives Back in wrapping presents for children.

Latin Club members have been creating Valentines for one of their favorite charitable organizations.
State T-Shirt Contest
Winchester's Latin Club chapter submitted a design to the state T-Shirt contest. We think that it's quite unbeelievable!
Outreach at St. Charles School, Woburn
We made Valentines using Latin vocabulary at St. Charles!
Latin Valentines
Students of all levels at WHS made Latin Valentines. The first Valentine was written in Latin, of course! AP students wrote two-sides Valentines from Aeneas and Dido to each other.
Percy Jackson Musical
23 students attended the Percy Jackson Musical in Worcester. It was a fun, educational and extremely entertaining show! It even got highlighted in Winchester High's newspaper, the Red and Black!!!
